With a glass of Scotch in one hand and a cigar in the other, Ron White has put audiences in stitches on numerous stand-up tour dates, albums, and comedy specials. White rose to stardom while appearing on the Blue Collar Comedy Tour with fellow comedians Jeff Foxworthy, Bill Engvall, and Larry the Cable Guy. He then came into his own with a number of commercially and critically successful comedy albums, tour dates, and stand-up specials. Ron White continues to play shows around the world, including tour dates in 2011.
Texas born and bred, Ron White earned the nickname "Tater Salad" in the Navy for his love of the side dish. When he returned from service, White decided to pursue his dream of becoming a comedian, driving around Texas on tour dates in a Nissan pickup truck. In 1990, he record his first comedy album, Tater Salad aka. Busted in Des Moines. After struggling to book tour dates at smaller stand-up clubs, Ron White was discovered by Jeff Foxworthy and invited to join the Blue Collar Comedy Tour in 2000. White's tales of drunkenness and adventures in Texas, told in a laid back style (cue the cigar and Scotch), became a huge hit with audiences.
The exposure brought Ron White hundreds of more high profile tour dates, as well as his second solo stand-up album, Drunk in Public. The album went gold and was soon followed by White's first Comedy Central stand-up special, They Call Me Tater Salad. While the DVD version of the special flew off the shelves, the CD version ended up going multi-platinum. Ron White's next stand-up special came in 2006, titled You Can't Fix Stupid; the album shot to the top of Billboard's Comedy Albums chart and was nominated for a Grammy.
Even with the astronomical success Ron White has experienced in the past several years, he is still giving back to his fans with tour dates in 2011. Tour dates last until the end of the year, with highlights including several shows at The Mirage in Las Vegas and a show at the Verizon Wireless Theater in Houston on October 8. Don't miss an opportunity to see one of the country's most popular comedians as he travels the country on uproarious stand-up tour dates in 2011.
