Kid Cudi Announces Bridgeport Show

Yesterday afternoon, promoters from The Webster Bank Arena at Harbor Yard annouced that multi-talented rapper Kid Cudi will stop by the venue for a show on July 24. The concert will be an opportunity for fans to hear tracks from Cudi's upcoming release Wizard, a rock-flavored album that Cudi claims will feature "no raps, just singing." The disc's first single "Perfect Is The World" was leaked last week. Cudi has a lot on this plate: he's currently filming HBO's How to Make It in America, prepping a mixtape release, and working on a short film with actor Shia LaBeouf, who directed his latest video, "Marijuana."

The booking is a solid start for Harbor Yard Sports & Entertainment, a management company that took over operating duties at the facility in May. They appear to be following through on their promise to complete minor renovations and double the number of events held at the arena. Tickets for the show are priced at $39.50-$49.50 and will be released here on June 10 at 10 a.m. Chip Tha Ripper opens. 8 p.m.
